I'm still waiting for my check. Hopefully I'll get it sometime this week. I don't know anyone who has received their check as of yet. I was reading a newspaper article last week that said some people are getting less than previously promised depending on how much they paid in taxes. This economic stimulus program is beginning to sound like a crock.

If you used Tax software of any kind and had the fees deducted from your refund you're going to get a paper check. If you used Tax software and paid the fees upfront using a debit or credit card then you will get it by direct deposit. The IRS is not going to send the money to another bank before it's sent to you. They don't consider having your fees deducted from your refund as direct deposit.
Also, the reason people are getting less than expected is because the IRS is also going by your tax liability. They are not taking out taxes.Comment -

I got a notice in the mail yesterday saying that I should have my check by the 16th. That's in 4 days. Can the government think of more ways to waste money that to bother sending me a notice about something that will arrive in less than a week - a check I already know about because if I hadn't filed my taxes I wouldn't be getting it. Hey guys. First post. Got a few questions. I see everyone talking about the rebate checks so I see your from the States. Went to Vegas a few weeks ago and sort of got hooked on sportsbetting. Now the only problem is I am back in St.Louis and I can not find a place to bet. So I turned to the Internet. Got hooked up with BETUS and have heard not so good things about them but all the (top books) won't take money from people in the USA. So where does a guy go to place a few bets online??

I'm still waiting. I should have gotten my rebate by today. I called the IRS but you only get a pre-recorded message. I went to their website and entered my information. Message I got was "We are sorry. Specific information about your Stimulus Payment is not available." So I'm basically in limbo. I'm still waiting for my money and can't even find out what's the holdup. Most people I've talked to have yet to receive their rebate. This stimulus program is beginning to sound like one big scam. I think the IRS is using every loophole to stiff the taxpayer out of their money.Comment -
