Most fun piece of real estate in all of sports.17th Island hole at Sawgrass!
If I was the greenskeepers kid,I would hit balls after hours steady on the 17th Island green at Sawgrass. What a fun betting hole. You would think most golf courses with any water at all would try to make an island green hole.

Did anyone watch the tourney this last week where they showed alot of this hole?I was thinking that John Daly may never play another round of PGA golf but if he got an exemption to play at Sawgrass,he could intentionally be the first guy to fall off the green. What a fitting way for Daly to go out. With the wind there all the time,I'm surprised no one has fallen in yet.

Do you think a replica hole like that on a small piece of land near a big metro area would be a big hit?Prizes for holes in one.etc?Would that constitute being gambling?

Has anyone here ever participated in those hole in one contests that insurance companies underwrite?

Anyone here just like to go to the driving range and not golf? You see these longest drive competitions on ESPN from Laughlin-Mesquitte,Nevada and the guys can sure drive but they do shit when trying to make the PGA.I suppose the length of the driver they use in long drive competitions helps.

What's the name of that famous long driving-trick shot guy that goes around the country and puts on exhibitions? He drives over 200 yards with a putter.etc.

I was there at the tourney. I swear about half the attending crowd just sat around 17th and laughed themselves silly whenever a ball went into the water. One of the golfers hit a great shot and almost holed it and he threw his club for fun and the crowd laughed. His partner for the day hit a good shot too so he grabbed his club and threw it too. Pretty funny. The wind was blowing really hard so this giant treebranch fell right next to the drop point on the 17th and impaled itself a few inches into the ground. If someone was passing by it probably would have badly hurt or even killed them.
