let's hold off until 25-30 games in and see how they look. if they are say 8-22 after 30 games then there is legit cause for concern. i think they'll sort things out as season progresses.

Most fans criticized the horrible play calling in the playoffs vs the Jets last year, especially in the 4th quarter. Most fans criticized the lack of effort/enthusiasm of the Celtics during the last few weeks. Most fans are criticizing the weak effort from the Sox hitters and bone-headed plays (like Varitek made last night), and that's only 5 games in.

Focus on that last part... "that might aid a team DURING THE PLAYING OF A GAME". If it wasn't used during the game, it wasn't against the rules. The Pats were punished because Belichick essentially ignored a memo from Goodell, specifying where videotaping could take place. Goodell, as any NFL fan knows, rules with an "iron fist". "We wanted to take and destroy that information," Goodell said. "They may have collected it within the rules, but we couldn't determine that. So we felt that it should be destroyed."
THEY MAY HAVE COLLECTED IT WITHIN THE RULES. That means that videotaping signals is NOT against the rules, but rather the location of the videotaping being done. Let me reiterate that... it is NOT cheating to steal signals, per the commissioners own words.
