You really think the first 5 games of a baseball season mean that much? Are you aware how the Yankees started in 2009, or the Phillies in 2008?

Although slow starts aren't a HUGE deal, there are a few divisions that if you dig your hole deep enough early, it is going to be very difficult to get yourself out of.

That being said, I don't think the National League West is one of those divisions. The giants will be in the hunt out there no matter what.
