With all the talk of escalating health care costs and candidates using that in their platforms, who here hasn't seen a doctor in years and years?
Women tend to be much bigger hypochondriacs than men are and men get accused by their wives of not going to the clinic when they need to.It's the old I don't have anything wrong with me syndrome and if I do have something wrong,my body will take care of it.And that is actually true for the most part.It seems everyone is going into the clinic and taking pills for problems that will just go away by themselves.
A person that works for a company with a good insurance plan feels like they are getting ripped off when they pay royally for insurance but never use it.You feel that you should be using that money for gambling purposes.hehe!
I always feel that all your Hillary's of the world should look at all the variables why health care costs are out of control including that about 50% of all doctor calls, clinic visits, ambulance calls, prescriptions given for pills and operations are unneeded.
I have a police scanner and even in a small area you hear every 2 minutes ambulances being called out for people with dizzy spells, hangovers, bruised elbows, stubbed toes, brokenfinger nails.etc.I know,I went a little overboard with the broken finger nails but I'm close to not exagerating.A 90 year old neighbor on medicare has a woman come over to trim his toe nails every few weeks and she was caught running up bills by overcharging, showing up to often etc.and she was using the money to play slots at the local Indian casino. It wasn't that the government caught her, someone she knew who saw her playing slots like a drunken sailor ratted her out.
So is there anyone here who went one hell of a long time without seeing a doctor???
I have seen this scenario happen many times in my life.It usually happens to guys in their 60's who don't go to a doctor or clinic for years. They are doing fine where they think they don't have any medical problems. For some reason, they go in for something totally unrelated to not feeling crappy all the time or anything serious. The doc tells them that they are full of cancer. The guy is dead in a week.If they never went to see the doc, they would have lived for a few good years not knowing about it.
