ATTN: Mods - Requesting new SBR feature/s
Hello everyone hope you all are doing well.

I have recently hit 1000 posts and I'm proud to be a part of SBR
This is the only forum I have ever used actively in my life and I am very pleased as to what this community provides.

    (Rant)
However, I am making this thread to request a new feature on here.
As we all know Players Talk receives the most traffic traffic (I use it a lot myself) and it is highly informative + entertaining. But whats getting increasingly painful everyday is the number of trash/useless threads that are made (not to mention certain trash posters who have nothing but non-constructive material to share)

I would like to request a filtering feature to block out certain posters and the threads they make which pollute this subforum. I mean, I dont really want to glance/follow the lives of lemart5, ttwarrior (other warriors as well lol), Roxxxyfish and so on everyday, (just to name a few ). I mean this is players talk - a place to share information, exchange ideas, opinions on games and other gaming related material. What you like to eat for games/ do u poop after you shower etc. have a different place for that -THE SALOON. I'm quite sure a lot of you sane people would agree with me here.

And by filtering, I dont mean the same feature as it is right now , where I have to go to settings -> manage a block list etc. Thats just redundant and a change could be useful. Also, I can still SEE threads made by the certain poster AND that they posted in a thread -although the content of post is "blocked".

What about a little clicky right beside the "report post"/corner of a post to block/ignore all posts and threads ever made by a certain poster ? , click confirm - VOILA !

Just think about the amount of time it would save for everyone browsing players talk

    Make this happen SBR.

The ignore feature is a nice one.

I understand theres already an ignore function, but its very redundant.

I have to manually manage a list copy paste their user name and I STILL see the posters name in certain threads and STILL see the threads they make etc.
wouldnt an ignore button beside their post be a much simpler solution ?

I do not think that word means what you think it means. Isn't what you are proposing redundant given the ignore feature?

what i meant was thats its a rather lengthy process to work on an ignore list hidden in a settings menu - enter the user name etc. ( and their post title/threads are STILL visible)

rather we could just have a option to click ignore right from posts and then confirm.

not really coach , i just dont like hurting my eyes scrolling through shitty threads when i could've just ignored the certain posters that makes 5 threads everyday about their lives.

hell, i'm not even that good with English , i took close to 45 min to type that shit haha, and i tried to my best to express my concern..
maybe certain people dont like me, but i'm sure a lot of others share the same concern as me.

** let me make this clear, this feature i'm requesting has nothing to do with categorizing/discriminating posters, merely to provide a more personalized forum experience for each one of us

And not to be "non-constructive" but shouldn't this be in the Site Suggestions Forum?

At first when I saw this at the top with a sticky, I thought SBR is looking into this. I just choose to ignore certain threads that I don't think are interesting.

                                      I agree completely.
Either this ignore feature or set peoples restrictions to how many threads they can start per day

I have personally asked Rod about it, and he suggested I post it in Players talk.
I assume he shares the same concern as me.

I get where you're coming from Pete0... not that it matters so much to me to have this function. Personally, I think that what's posted is posted whether you like it or not. It is not that hard to sift through your desired threads and posts. My feeling it that the employees/mods at sbr should be the ones that make Players Talk a desirable community. If majority of posters prefer an ignore function of the sort you are describing, SBR is not doing their job to provide a quality product and will suffer the consequences. When you start making it that easy for posters to customize their forum, it no longer feels like a community. This is just my personal opinion of course, and it's based on what I like about PT, so to each his own.

It's part of what makes SBR unique. Although a more advanced ignore feature likely wouldn't hurt, I'm sure the techs are busy doing more important things. They are adding things like the new SBR odds and perfecting it. They already have a ignore feature and it isn't that hard to use. Yeah you might be able to see thread titles still, read over them you're a grown man... hopefully.

You may have asked Rod about it and he may have the same concern BUT by no means should this be a sticky and like it has been said before..it should be in the site suggestion forum.

I think the Mods around here should follow what they preach.....put appropriate subjects in the appropriate sub forum. If this was done with some consistency there would be less of the garbage that is being talking about in the original post to sift through.

                                                  Biggest problem with SBR...Consistency.
