Im gonna say yes because he plays catcher, if he played any other position though he would just be an average ballplayer.

When his career is over, it will be closer than you believe it is.

True, but at this point, he's a "no". I'll never look back and say "Man, that Jorge Posada was one hell of a ballplayer." He won some rings and played on a historically potent offense which enabled him to boost his numbers a tad, but in my opinion he's not there yet. But yes, his numbers are going to be close when it's over.

If he played for the Reds, then no. But because hes a Yankee, and has rings, and plays catcher, then Yes. YES.

Posada has a career WARP around 80. Ted Simmons was in the high 90s and Joe Torre a bit above 100 and they weren't elected, although Posada did play on a bunch of championship teams. If he doesn't decline too badly and has a few more solid years like his past few, he should get in.

Won't get 2000 hits. Not that great of an average, decent amount of hr's. Probably won't get much more than 1000 rbi's.

Even as a Yanks fan I say no to this one. I don't even put Posada close to Munson and even he's borderline in my book. In order to be a hall of fame catcher you have to make your pitching staff better and I don't think Posada has done that.

Bunk, bunk, bunk, and more bunk. Jorge does not pass the "eye" test for the HOF.
