Something happen to my comp where my speakers are not working. I don't think it is the speakers. When i plug them in the back of the tower i can hear the speakers making a noise until i plug it all the way in. Anyone ever have this problem? If i open this prick up is there something i just pull out and get a new piece to put back in? Now before the ball busting begins can i get this solved? I can't watch another JJ video without the sound. To brutal on the eyes.

#3Did you go into the control panel under sound and make sure the levels are turned all the way up? If you did, I would start by uninstalling/reinstalling your sound card drivers. You should be good to go from there if it's just software related. Otherwise, you may need a new sound card, and it's easy to install yourself.Comment -

#6First you should take the audio card out of its slot and then plug it back in.That sometimes works. If that doesn't work, do what Chute says. You can find the drivers on the internet by doing a google search for "Win xp audio drivers" or whatever operating system you are using. Figure out what kind of audio card you have by reading the details on the card and that should help you get the right driver.
Had to do this the other day for my friend when he did a clean install of xp.Sometimes stupid things such as reseating the audio card fixes this crapComment -

#8Well if you open the computer case there will be a big card that everything attaches to.Thats your motherboard. plugging into your motherboard will be your video card and audio card if you have one. Some people don't have a audio card and rely on the motherboard for the sound.
If you take a pic of your computer and post it on here I can show you which one is your audio card or if you can't take a pic, just disconnect whatever is connected to the motherboard and then reconnect it again and make sure all the connections are tight
Then once you do that try the sound. If it doesn't work do a search on google for Windows xp audio drivers or whatever windows version you haveComment -

#9Check your recent Windoze updates... if you recently updated to a newer version of the driver.. chances are the update f'ed your driver up and gaev you something incompatible. If so.. simply uninstall the driver and let the old one take it's place.. ignore the driver on your next update... generally Windows update may cause errors with your sound card updates.Comment -

#10PS it's "Windows update" and view the recent updates, you can uninstall the driver and restore your driver to the old one. This should fix it for you.Comment -
