Who said white guys can't dance and don't have rhythm.Has anyone seen Sid Crosby even in warmups how he turns into a dynamo.I was watching his pre game skate on tv yesterday and it shocked the hell out of me as to what the hell the guy can do.He has to be the most agile guy in sports.Grant you,he would have been alot better a few years back doing spinaramas when the other guys on the other team weren't as good.

Wayne Gretzky in his prime couldn't hold a candle to Crosby. If Crosby was playing when Gretzky was playing with lenient 4 on 4 penalty situations and alot worse goalies than now, his stats would have been better than Gretzky's were. Not that Gretzky wasn't great.

Has anyone seen Crosby skate in warmups even where not trying to be a hot dog he dazzles you?

He's from some place like New Brunswick 2/3 of the way to Iceland and Ireland practically ''I think they are 1 1/2 hours east of eastern time zone at the far reaches of Canada. When he was in high school instead of playing juniors in Canada,a high school in Minnesota a couple hours from me recruited him and he played there for a year.I wonder how much the Catholic school paid him out of the weekly collection plate at mass.hehe!

Funny you say that JJ because yesterday i watch him for one of the first times in a whole hockey game and i never knew when he was on the ice. With Gretzky you always knew. My first impression? Way way way overrated. I also got to watch Ovechkin(sp) for the first time since he played in Philly and you knew when he was on the ice. My impression of him? A stud. Some guys you can find on the ice at any moment without even seeing his number. I had to always try to find Crosby. Lemui you knew it was him, Lafluer you knew it was him, Gretz, Hull, Orr, Clarke, and Jager same thing. To be fair it was one game but i didn't see anything special.

He's a great hockey player but I've never considered hockey players to be great athletes.

Blacks dont play hockey so there is no real measuring stick. I'm aint saying that hockey players aint great athletes but lets be honest here.

The only sport that blacks will never be as good as whites at is swimming. Thats because it is a medical fact that black peoples muscles are more dense and causes them to sink harder than whites. I'm serious here.

But then again blacks have tried tennis and havent really broken through. Maybe tennis is a white sport for some reason.

First, Sid is injured, he has a high ankle sprain. He is not the same player as he has been. Second, you cannot make a judgment on a guy after only seeing him a couple of times. Third, everyone notices Ovechkin because he does flashy things. He scores goals, he throws big hits, and he likes to float around the blue line in the defensive zone. Sid plays defense, he is a playmaker, and he is not overtly physical.

I don't know how hockey players aren't great athletes. It has nothing to do with black or white.

Anyone remember a guy named Russ Courtenault ''spelling''that played for the Canadiens and Toronto and maybe one more team.He never made it to the hockey hall of fame but the guy could litteraly fly and had so much inertia when shooting the puck in full flight even though he was small and I see a little of him in Crosby.I think if Crosby stays healthy he will have a breakout year next year.

Ovechkin is the most talented player in the league, there is no doubt.

I see a player play a few times i know i can tell if he can play or not. That is why i said i only saw him once. The injury? Well maybe this is why i had trouble finding him. I'll give him a fair chance but nothing i saw the first time even compared to Gretz or Lemu. the problem with these type of players is the press constantly comparing the two. Just like the NBA does with James. Its not fair to the athlete. I saw this show here in Philly with Lindross. Constantly comparing him to Gretzky. They were out of their mind. In this state we constantly overrated our players. We are doing it right now with Andre Igadola. We sign him with number 1 type of money we will be doing the same stupid shit all over again. Let some other team sign him to number one money and let them ruin their team.

The comparison to Gretzky and Lemieux is not fair because they are not the same player, they play a completely different style. If anyone should be compared to Lemieux it is Malkin.

I just saw the Jackie Robinson of the NHL on tv being interviewed.Willy O'ree that played for the Bruins way back when.50's-60's.He seemed like a great guy and had absolutely no gripes about racism when he played etc.He said he was just a hockey player and wasn't worried about being a trailblazer being the 1st black player.

I guess it's a Canadian thing where there aren't quite as many blacks in Canada.Same goes for Mexicans being in short supply in the NHL but Scott Gomez for the Rangers is pretty good.

Hell,Grant Fuhr the Edmonton dynasty goalie had a built in advantage. When there was a loose puck and scrum in front of the net,the opposing players couldn't make out where the puck was.Just kidding!!!!!Don't want to get in trouble on that one.I have a lifelong friend that was full Italian and was a good high school player when I was in school.Him and his sisters looked more black than black people and we used to tell him that he was our first black hockey player.

For the record, I'd rather have Datsyuk and Zetterberg over Crosby and Malkin as well.
