Deangelo Casto WILL play tonight for Washington St against Northwestern

Deangelo Casto is far from a guard: He is about 6'10' and built like a heavyweight boxer!! I think this will hurt their rebounding on the offensive side of the ball a little bit, but it might actually make them match up better against Northwestern.

Casto is the Cougar's best big man. 12.1 points per game; 6.8 rebounds per game; 1.8 blocks per game. Huge loss in the paint on both ends of the court.

Looks like he was busted for possessing a small amount of marijuana.

Early Tuesday morning around 1:20am, officers were on foot patrol near an area where they've had several burglaries recently. They saw the screen missing from a window, so they decided to check it out. When they looked inside, it appeared that someone was rolling a marijuana cigarette at a table. The officers knocked on the door and Casto answered. The police instantly smelled marijuana. They explained to Casto what they had seen outside and asked him to bring the marijuana to them. He complied with the request. The officers didn't have a citation book at the time, so they asked Casto to come to the police department later in the day. Casto arrived at the station around 10pm with his attorney. That's when he was officially cited for possession of marijuana (technically arrested and released). Casto will be asked to appear in court within the next two weeks."

What the heck is wrong with Washington players and violating team rules? It seems like every week one or more of those players on that team is benched for breaking rules. Casto is huge for that team. Now N.W. will be able to run both inside and outside offense more easily.

I am hammering Northwestern right now after learning this. Northwestern can play with anyone in the country and keep it close, and getting +4 points tonight and playing a team without one of it's best players seems like an easy play to me.

Washington State removed a suspension on DeAngelo Casto in time for the junior forward to play in Wednesday's NIT quarterfinal game against Northwestern.

Casto was suspended Tuesday for a violation of team rules.

According to The Associated Press, Pullman, Wash., police said officers on foot patrol early Tuesday morning looked in a window of an apartment and saw someone rolling what appeared to be a marijuana cigarette. Police said they knocked on the door and police could smell marijuana when Casto answered.

Casto was cited for possession of less than 40 grams, a misdemeanor that generally results in a $250 fine and one day in jail.
