Only time will tell. There have been several fighters in other divisions that are tall, skinny and have bigger reach than others. Many of these fighters have been to the top and then completely countered by certain styles. Jones is unique, but there are several counters to him and his style. Does the LHW division have anyone right now that can beat him? This is unknown right now.

MJ was never cut in college. In fact he was never cut at all. When he was in 9th grade he just didn't make varsity as a freshman. He played jv that year and varsity the rest. He then went to UNC. We won it all and he left early for the NBA.

So, I was mistaken a bit. When MJ was in high school he didn't make varsity as a sophomore because they thought he was too short at that time. Only one sophomore made the varsity squad. He grew 4 inches before jr year and played varsity. his sr year he was a mcd's all american averaging a triple double.

He got a scholarship to UNC and was ACC freshman of the year in 81. As a sophomore UNC won it all and MJ made the game winning shot. As a sophomore and junior he was a first team NCAA all american. As a junior he won the the Naismith and Wooden college player of the year awards. After his junior year he left chapel thrill and was selected 3rd overall by the bulls.

So yea...it's safe to say he didn't get cut at UNC
