Not a genius...I was just genuinely tired of losing tons of money so put in the time to learn what I could. I really hope that it carries over to next year so I can get all my money back from my local.

Same here... MM IMHO is the most important component in being successful. At least it is for me and how I make my plays.

I read about people saying how there aren't many professional type handicappers on this site, but there is enough. Hell, it only takes one if you are looking to follow someone. As crazyl said, "Nobody shares anything practical" and to an extent he is correct. Sure you can find a lot of information, but really there are only a few ways to make money. Take Diogee here, he learned the game of sports betting and applied what he has learned through hours of study and hard work. However, he still lacks in the confidence to know he will be successful year in and year out. Of course that will come as the years pass and once he builds a bank roll big enough and gains the confidence he will move on. He will spend all his time handicapping, getting bets in, moving to Vegas, getting bets in there and making lots and lots of money. He will leave SBR Forums behind and only check in every now and then.

Now for those looking for the magical "system", the one where you only take a few minutes a day to formulate and then you are off to place your wagers, you know these extremely lucky few are never going to list this holy grail on a forum.

So, in the end, you are left with trying to formulate a system from the many losing ideas given in this world or you are destined to spend hours a day handicapping to make your mortgage payment. Of course, you could always just follow some posters plays and continue posting day after day upon the forums. Maybe even get a job helping others in the industry. Welcome to the rest of your life...

When i switched my mentality from amount won to percentage of return. since most of my gambling is card rooms, i thing of my bets like stock investments. if i can get a 40 percent return, i pull out and take the profit
