Chicago nowhere near the top 5. Pathetic, considering they have as many teams as every city but NY. You'd think they'd have at least ONE good team.

Chicago is a shame, they have so much history.

      Bulls
      Cubs
      Blackhawks
      Bears

      Such a shame.

Sounds like every major city to me. NYC is the dirtiest city on Earth.

BTW. New Jersey is far from safe pal.

There's really not much history there.

You have the Bulls who were good for a decade, and the Bears who were good for 3 years in the late 80's.

The Cubs haven't done shit in a century.

I use to live in MI and we would go down to the city for ball games back in the day at old Tiger Stadium. We were told we had about 30 minutes after the game finished to get to your car and leave. It was scary I kid you not. There was no "parking"...you just parked in random lots back then.

Fortunately, Detroit has become a little bit safer now that all the "hoods" and "gangstas" are in the 3 casinos that have been built the past 10 years, about a 3 mils radius apart from one another. Good idea...poor city, let's build 3 mega casinos!

I feel safer walking in a dark alley at night in Detroit than I would in a dark alley in NYC.

Detroit just gets a bad rep. It's not all that bad.

                              deucey,

i've always wanted to know.. how popular are the red wings compared to the pistons, tigers and lions.

in terms of popularity in detroit, are the red wings 4th, amongst these 4 teams. for example, if the pistons played game 7 vs orlando lets say at the same time as det vs col for example in game 7 in nhl, would most detroit fans watch the hockey game or basketball game.

i'm curious to know because i want to see if detroit is really hockeytown as they say or not.

Well sure, compared with Baghdad and every other city in Iraq, Detroit seems relatively safe right now.

On every major list of "worst US cities," "least safest cities," "homicide rates," "unemployment," etc... Detroit is usually #1 or #2. It is what it is......
