How Good is Matchbook for Baseball
Pinny is an 8 cent line, Match looks like a 1 cent line and then at some point jumpt to a 2 cent line (+141, -143 for example).

After commissions which one is better? Can someone help me out with this?

Matchbook easily. Usually around a 4-cent line after commision.

I am surprised Matchbook does not get more volume with low juice. I guess virtually impossible to crack the traditional books.

Q: If you place an offer on the Matchbook exchange at a line of L, what would be the equivalent line at a sportsbook (assuming a 1% commission on winnings)?

A:
• For L ≤ -100 (-100, -101, -102, etc.),
the sportsbook equivalent line = L 99% .
• For L >≈ +101.01,
the sportsbook equivalent line = 99% * L.
• For +100 ≤ L <≈ +101.01,
the sportsbook equivalent line = -10,000 (99% * L) .

Examples:
• A Matchbook trade at -150 is the sportsbook equivalent of -150 99% ≈ -151.52.
• A Matchbook trade at +150 is the sportsbook equivalent of 99%*+150 = +148.50.
• A Matchbook trade at +100 is the sportsbook equivalent of -10,000 (99% * 100) ≈ -101.01.

For decimal odds the conversion is a bit more straightforward. An exchange at decimal odds of D at 1% commission is the sportsbook equivalent of 1% + 99%*D.

So in your example above, a market of +141/-143 at 1% commission would be the sportsbook equivalent of about -144.4/ +139.6, which is roughly 3.1¢ better than Pinnacle's standard 8¢ line.

the sportsbook equivalent line = -10,000 L * 98% .

Examples:
• A Matchbook trade at -103 is the sportsbook equivalent of -103*98% = -105.10.
• A Matchbook trade at +150 is the sportsbook equivalent of +150*98% = +147.00.
• A Matchbook trade at +101 is the sportsbook equivalent of -10,000 / (101 * 98%) = -101.03.

You might want to recalculate. I am pretty sure they are doing 1% for baseball.

-143 --> -144.4

+141 --> +139.6

So that's a 5 cent line after commission.

Above post adjusted to reflect 1% commission.

Thank you.

One other point:

If you have both MB and Pinny for baseball, you are golden.

MB almost always stays within pinnys 8 cent spread on a game, but a lot of times is shaded either towards the high or low end of it. So if you pick and choose, you can save much more than just a couple of pennies from pinnys lines.

Example:

Pinny line: NYY -150 TOR +142
MB line: NYY -143 TOR +142

In this case, if you like the yankees, you are saving 7 cents (about 6 cents with commission). If you like TOR, you simply bet it at Pinny and save the commission.

So if you only had to have one book for MLB, I would recommend MB, it is great to also use in tandem with Pinny.

Matchbook is good for NBA moneylines too.

must-have for serious players.....yet you need other outs also. If you are going out for the day and want to place a dime on a MLB game at around Noon, it's tough to match it up at Matchbook. But the book is golden closer to gametime.

where the hell you going to beat -102/+101?? you get this everyday at matchy.. that's equivalent to -103/even.. a 3 cent line? i never dreamed i would see this in my life.

no other books come close, only pinny.. 89% of my bets end up at matchy every night. if matchy closed down, i seriously might quit gambling. it would be tough to make money without this book. i'd have to lay about 5-7 cents more per game on avg, over 1 yr with the amount of bets and volume i put in, this would cost me approx 100k a yr out of my pocket.

the 1% for bases is phenomenal. as for NBA or moneylines, when you pay 2%, you really are close to pinny now..

celtics -190
pistons +184

is really -194/+180

that's right, a 6 cent line becomes a 14 cent line..

even NBA or NFL at 2% is shit.. people think it's great, but it's just as good as pinny..

DAL -5.5 -110
PHI +5.5 +106

this is really an 8 cent line now, just like pinny. don't get fooled by the 4 cent line.. baseball at 1% is where the value is..
