Do you avoid betting on your home team?

I love the Toronto Maple Leafs. Hockey is a religion here. It's bad enough when the Leafs lose, but I get really upset when I lose too by betting on the game. And lets be honest, they Leafs have sucked for a long time so it's not easy.

I don't bet on them because they are my team. If it's a great line, i'll bet for or against them, but it's conflicting watching.

If I bet against them, and they win, it's mixed feelings. If I bet for them, and they lose, AND I lose, it's a double kick in the nuts. However, if i bet on them to win, and we both do, it's great!

I find thou it spoils watching the game. I now avoid betting on them. Anyone else avoid betting on their home team?

I very rarely bet on my favorite team, DUKE. Learned my lesson a few years ago.

like anything, you just need to pick your spots. you can usually tell how they are playing the best.

Never bet against Celtics or Red Sox. Have bet against the pats, but only when they were double digit favs, and I teased the opposing team to +14 or more. I do bet on the Celtics a good amount, pick my spots though. Red sox I tend to not bet on as much.

I don't avoid my favorite teams, but year in and out, a few teams seems to continually burn me.

I use to love fading the Nuggets while the melodrama was happening, now I find myself in a blindly following the Nuggets no matter what. I think they lose against the Magic though. Don't see them covering 3 straight road games.

I'd say that you use your familiarity with the team to pick and choose your spots. If you feel like they're gonna get beat down and their favs, you really have no choice but to bet the underdog.

wouldn't hesitate to bet against my team if i thought i was on a winner. Done it many times. It's hard if
you actually watch the game though.
