There is actually not much danger even living in Japan. The radiation exposure there while high will be nothing like that of Chernobyl. They should be safe but the medias use of rhetoric here has gotten quite out of hand. There is ZERO risk to anyone outside of Japan and only minimal risk to those living there, speaking of radiation of course.

I don't know what news you've been watching, but if any of those 4 reactors melt down, that shit will carry in the wind and spread everywhere. Radiation particles will reach the US.

Fish has a better chance at choking to death on a piece of fukin Iowa corn, than anyone on the west coast has of dying of radiation sickness from Japan's nuclear problem.

Cripes people. Chernobyl was a true nuclear disaster, and no one in China, Japan, or Europe was affected and it has been 25 years since that disaster.

Just to put it into context, the amount of radiation entering the Earth's atmosphere (mainly from the Sun) every single day is many billions of times as much as could ever be released by a nuclear power station.

A violent, high concentration, release of gamma radiation at Fukushima would be dangerous to those in the immediate vicinity only. It's dispersal would mean that by the time they had reached the US west coast it would be negligable.
