I love pork ribs. Of all the bbq places in this area, there's only a select few that make really good pork ribs.
I do not like beef ribs....at all. Way too chewy & grisly. Grosses me out. I think one way too tell if ribs are really good is too be able to eat them without needing much sauce at all.
Damn....now I want bbq. Almost time for lunch!

That's an awesome summer kitchen!
I've recently built several of them for people here in Texas. A couple of them are unreal. 150k for a barbecue area will get you a first class summer kitchen!
It's crazy that people spend that kind of money on this.....but they have it to spend......so why not?
Tell your buddy that it looks awesome!

Actually thats just a picture I had on my home plans files, I think thats from hilton head as well but I am not sure. He just put the outdoor cooking stuff in and he is laying all the stone work right now.Are you a contractor Opie, I noticed you had a great indoor kitchen in your house, did you do all the work?
outdoor kitchens and bars by the pool are the way to live, thats the only way I can get through summers in the south.

Opie is desperately trying to relate to the little people and shed the rich guy persona by saying how crazy it is to spend 150K on an outdoor summer kitchen. But what he won't tell you is that he has two, one for each wing of his house.
Opie is rich and loves rubbing it in our faces. He and the beauty queen laugh at us every night right after they finish a sumptuous repaste cooked by their personal chef, Antonio. White Bread and Snowflake then crack open a nice bottle of Caymus or Stag's Leap and laugh at how broke we all are and how we all suck.
Well Opie, I am here to tell you we may be broke but we don't suck. At least we're loyal enough not to leave our parents and abandon them by renting our own place. We stick together, Richy von Richenstein. Stop laughing at us!!

I am. Primarily do high-end residential, but have done some nice commercial projects lately as well.
I'll post a pic of the last summer kitchen we recently completed. It's great.
We did everything on our house. Thanks for the kind words, Greg.
Give me a winner for the Preakness!

Opie , you need to start a thread of pictures of the houses you have worked on and your pad. Show these guys how to live richie von richenstein, LOL. Swinging johnson . I love good architecture, your house looked really impressive from the video . I would love to see any pics of outdoor kitchens ,bars, pools and especially any home theaters.
The only sure winner for the preakness is a good party to watch it at, I really like animal kingdom but these odds are awful and I may try dance city for the win as well with his odds and put animal kingdom in some exacta and trifecta boxes. I put an exacta box with dialed in and animal kingdom and dance city and animal kingdom and may add mucho macho man or dialed in in a trifecta box for kicks .
dance city is definitely worth a punt at those odds
Most seem to be on animal kingdom but that may be just wishful thinking for a triple crown hopeful, he does looks strong though. It was raining in baltimore all week but should be nice for the race.

SJ.....somehow I missed your post between my back & forth with greg.
The only part of your story that is remotely true is the reference to Stag's Leap. That is one indulgence I'll admit that the "beauty queen" and I have partook in. As a matter of fact, we have a couple of bottles in the wine room ripe for drinking as I type this!
Always a pleasure to read your latest musings, SJ. As always, keep up the emasculating. Warms my heart.

Just got back to the house. What a crazy night. We hit the bar up until it closed down then got about an hour of sleep before two drunks started fighting outside the rv we were staying in. Got up at 5 this morning, started it off right with coffee and bloody mary. Cooked all mutha fukkin day until about 3 this afternoon. We cooked over a hundred pounds of meat today. 8 full slabs of ribs, 8 boston butts, 2 pork shoulders, and 40 pounds of chicken. We placed 2nd in chicken and 2nd in ribs out of 13 teams. I feel we did really good considering there was some good competition out there. Two of the teams were BBQ catering businesses. We fed alot of people today, and had a great time and listened to some good live music.

dumpster diving is the best, I found a very nice humidor and 4 nice kitchen chairs a few weeks ago outside a dumpster near house. I live in auburn, so all these spoiled kids with mom and dad paying for everything will just set anything out, and I am reaping all the benefits.
what a loser.
