I'm assuming everything like horse racing is on hold over there?
Anyone here bet on Japan horse racing or any other games there?

#5I play J and J2 League soccer, the Matchday #2 was cancelled this past weekend and Matchday #3 has already been shutdown. I have a feeling it's going to be quite a while until we see some Japanese sporting events.Comment -

#6I would think with the Nuclear problem and radiation possibilities in the air, as well as a few clubs were right where the main wave it in Sendai, it may be a while before we see anything.Comment -

#8Good catch Vegas...it would surprise me if they postponed the schedule until May or June. I would think other sports and horse racing will probably follow suit for the safety of the athletes, horses, and fans. Not to mention the Japanese are a tad more sensitive to mourning than others.Originally posted by VegasInsiderComment -

#10I agree with you Sanchez. The destruction in Japan is so overwhelming that I can't see soccer for quite some time over there. One thing I didn't know until I read the article is the season may go on without some of their best players due to the national team playing int'l competition.Originally posted by Dirty SanchezGood catch Vegas...it would surprise me if they postponed the schedule until May or June. #12I have watched Japanese horse racing on TVG before......They draw crowds of over 100,000 to see their racing events. They also put on a big show between races..........That sport is huge over there.Comment -

Also the Japanese Baseball season starts within the next few weeks I think....something tells me this disaster is going to put many things on hold for a while. All you have to do is turn on the TV and they're talking about those Nuclear Fuel plants, explosions, and exposed fuel rods. Add all of that up with a stiff wind, and they could have some bigtime radiation problems.Comment -
