Fact: If you visit Vegas (or a particular Vegas hotel) 6 times a year, YES, they will comp you a room if you show a lot of table/slot time on your players card.

Fact: Players who frequent table (non-poker)/slot machines are losers over the long haul so therefore it's profitable for Vegas to offer them free rooms.
Fact. I have never stayed at TI in my life before last year. I received 3 days and 2 nights, $150 in money, $100 in free food. Didn't have to meet any requirements for any of those. Most of the offers I get are for reduced rates though. I don't play slots. Nothing but table games. I stayed for free at the Stardust for years before they tore it down.

I can stay for free anytime I want at the Golden Nugget because of Tilman Fertitta.

Just because you are offered nothing doesn't mean longtime gamblers and customers of casinos aren't.

yes the nugget and anywhere in old las vegas will treat u well if ur a customer who plays moderately or even below average. Same goes for circus circus, imperial palace and other low brow casinos on the strip. But the mgm group hotels and bigger names dont give shit for free unless u dump ur wallets or bet big. The nugget is the best place to stay for price and ambiance at the same time. they did a good job on the renovation. its only drawback is that its not on the strip. And theres something about waking up on the strip and being in the action that sometimes makes a vegas trip

I don't know why TI offered me all that free stuff last year. I used to always stay at the Stardust because it was free. I hated that it was at the end down by the Riviera but hey, it was free. I had never stayed in any MGM group hotel before last year.

Like I said before, I don't play slots. The only machine I'll play is video poker. I play only table games. You're right though about one thing, Vegas has tightened up on it's free stuff. I won't stay at a dump just because it's free but I'm also not there to stay in my room.

I'll be honest, if I"m going to vegas I'm taking like 1500 to gamble with. Thats it... so if things go bad, I'm not going to make it on someones list of big players... Thats just me. I admit it. I take the easy SS at the local casino. FYI they start in a week. Hit the casino's on the 3rd thru the 10th to get maximized profits on the SS checks

Like I said before I want a chill place to go to and a nice room to be in. Nothing low end. Just an above average room. catch some shows, nice dinner, and play some cards.

You're like me. I've never taken more than 2k for a trip. I don't take CC's or my debit card either. I've both won and lost before. I always just bring what I feel comfortable with. I'm going to relax and spend some time with my wife minus the kids. You really can't beat the Nugget if you don't mind staying downtown. I say stay away from the Riviera, Circus Circus, Imperial Palace, or Excalibur. They are either very old or full of kids.

              Yawn @ staying downtown.

That's like going to see the dinosaur exhibit at the San Diego Zoo.

I guess we'll just agree to disagree on this. If I'm going to Vegas I'm staying at one of the following hotels: Wynn, Venetian, The Hotel @ Mandalay Bay, Mandalay Bay, Mirage, Bellagio, Paris or Red Rock.

Go through I4Vegas.com to get almost any room in Vegas.

I always find the best deals for rooms at www.i4vegas.com They have a wide variety of casinos that have surplus-discounted rooms for from the high end to the low end and you save lots of $$$$$.This isn't your typical Priceline-William Shatner hotel broker dealie.Make sure to explore the whole site's offers before you make a decision.

His Red Rock suggestion is a good one though.
You can stay at the horseshoe and get laid for less then you will pay for just the room on the strip...
