turn on your tv and watch live coverage. Debris(cars, houses, etc..) washed km's inland...ships were swept away.....possible that small islands have been washed away in the Pacific.

Shari no erthquake is beneficial to society but this quake was 160 more powerful than christchurch so in terms of sheer destructive force JJ has a point....Just confirmed that a ship carrying 100 people off the Japan coast has been swpet away in the tsunami...What a way to go

This is the biggie they've been preparing for - they knew sometime this century a gigantic quake would hit eastern Japan. That's the one good thing I guess, all that earthquake tech seems to have resulted in buildings surviving.
