Anyone take advantage of this deal yet? I have been to Subway 3 times in the last 5 days! I am not the biggest Subway fan but its a good deal!

I'll pass. Don't get me wrong, a fresh properly made Subway sub is fair. The past few times the bread has been stale, ham has looked old and downright crusty, and I've ended up not even eating the entire thing.
There's a place I go to around Sunset Park where this Chinese guy makes the best hero in Brooklyn, stacks them like houses. It's incredibly good.

Just had myself a foot long spicy italian on Honey Oat bread. Toasted with Provolone cheese, lettuce, pickles, black olives, green peppers, jalapeños, oil and vinegar, spices, chipotle southwest sauce..... Well worth the $5

Subway's not bad if it's fresh. I might actually try them out this weekend, not bad for a footlong. My favorite deli though is Mike's on Arthur Avenue in the Bronx. Definitely not $5, but well worth the extra money.

I don't mind Subway, but the place around here isn't particularly big on ensuring the bread and coldcuts are fresh. I would rather go to a good family owned deli than have some teenager make my sandwich at Subway.

The subs are cheap tasting although low calorie. The real subs are way better at pizzerias and italian delis.

subway has an institutionalized taste. it flat out sucks. I'm from New York and we have the best deli's in the world. Subway just doesnt compare. Same with pizza from all those chains. They suck compared to New York or Chicago pizza. I may eat subway once a year. Subway - where the food is cheap and the attitude is free. Most people on the west coast will never taste a good pizza or sub in there life. Just like New York thinks taco bell is mexican food. When I came out west I had real mexican food and theres no place in New York that i found half way decent. Also Subways meat is slimier than Double Dare and Ghostbusters combined.
Also have u ever noticed that subways all have that weird smell? Its from the bread cuz they bake it there, thats obvious. But no other bakery I have ever been to smells like that. hmmmmmmmm. wake up people and start living in the dodif world. That place aint right.

I love the commercial with Godzilla. It's a very catchy tune. You don't really save that much money with this deal. It doesn't apply to all sandwiches and you only end up saving between $0.50 to $1.00 per sandwich. I think MTV's Real World has some kind of deal with Subway because that's all the house guests eat.

Jimmy Johns is great and you are out in like 1 min tops, plus they deliver if close. The only problem for some people is they are all cold, but I actually prefer this as to toasted.
Quebb- Penn Station is tight too, but you have to wait 20 minutes for them to make the damn thing, even if you call the shit in you would think it would only take a min to ring you out....
Both of these places immediately next door to my work, one on each side, not a bad deal at all. With a good bar next door too.

I had a club today. Girl working said the promotion ends in mid May. After that they will still continue to offer 5 more basic subs at $5.
Subway isn't a favorite, but is more healthy than most things I eat while on the go. Will take local Yellow Sub here in Lawrence any day.
