When a thread is deleted, should a pm accompany it?
I had created a thread that no longer exists.

This was an information request thread. It was about the funding medium ***/QT. I wanted to know what books that were A rated used this as a deposit. There was no oscenity in it; a basic request for information. One of the books I use (intertops) will not allow monegyram as a withdrawl anymore so I wanted to shift to a higher rated book that did and use ***.

Now if the thread was deleted, should the op who started it get a pm detailing or at least saying why it was deleted?

no, you are owed nothing. you are responsible for the continued maintenance of the thread and should notice when deleted. At this time you email a mod and ask them why. They have enough hand holding to tend to.

There is a reason as to why most funding methods turn into ********* when you enter them on SBR.

SBR has stated in the past that these methods be blocked out by request of affiliate sports books due to the difficulties of books finding and maintaining funding methods for US players. Since these boards are likely monitored by authorities looking to eliminate offshore books from accepting funds from US players your thread which was meant to be beneficial to US players is actually quite the opposite.

SBR likely deleted the thread for this reason if you would like to know which books offer which funding methods it would be best to visit the website of these books and/or contact them via live chat/email/or telephone.

Makes sense as to why the thread would be deleted. Thanks

Yes, the rules are definitely in place, and usually for good reason, but I do agree with the OP ... If nothing else, an automated PM could be sent, as 1) a courtesy and 2) a quick heads-up as to what they did wrong, so they don't unknowingly do it again. That is, at least if it's a "clean" case like this guy rather than a single thread filled with expletive rants calling out posters, an exposé of fat women vomiting (this has happened ) and 1000 pound women in swim suits (this has happened too ), complete with graphic animal sex, where the animal's heads have been replaced with profile shots of moderators. (I don't think this has happened yet. )

Combine all those (strictly as an example ) and I think that's an obviously egregious case, no explanation needed. But this is SBR... anything short of that might require an explanation.

When BBD was here he would always PM posters. Since he quit I don't get courtesy PM's from mods anymore.

Pavy, I just sent you a PM.

                Maron,
Apologies your thread left you scratching your head. Ideally, we have a message. Right now, the books asked that certain parts of their operation are not public or they will all end up operating like Heritage Sports. We don't censor user feedback but we oblige with info regarding their privately operated processes as we do with poster details.

In most cases people understand. When they have to spell the word computer like Kompoohtour, they know that someone asked their details not be allowed.

I completely understand on why the thread was deleted. Protection and making it easier for both consumers and the books is the perfect world. It was a little lazy of me not to do the legwork on this question
