Hi I am new to this forum and new to sports betting. I felt like if i did research and since i knew a fairly good amount about basketball and football its something that I would be good at as well. I had some a fair amount of success my first go round making 1400 dollars on two parlays and i hate to admit it but i came up after chasing a gonzaga game. My question is I thought this was all about research and knowing about the teams playing. Then i come about this site and stumbled upon Kelly Criterion, excel sheets, +ev, and now I dont know what to do.
I hope that I am not being to egregious and Im not asking for a handout. What Im asking for is where can I research the nuances of sports betting. Where can I learn what the different terminologies and where can i find an in depth explanation of the kelly criterion, how excel and spreadsheets play a part of this as well and why i even need them. I hope that this isnt considered just a noob thread because Ive been searching the threads and most of them ended in an argument between some guy dark horse and the rest of the community, thanks in advance for any info given.
