    HELP - advice
so i am 20 and i have been playing at a local las vegas casino for quite some time. they all know me there by first name, just because i came in so much and they knew me by face and i'd make them think they checked my id before.

anyway, i hit a high hand and it was $600. you have to have two forms of ID if you hit something over $600 i believe. i told them i'd come back after work to get the money, but the pitt boss just said bring it later and cashed me out. i was playing with dealers too, real nice and friendly with them. i'd consider them friends.

ANYWAY, now i am wondering that if i go back without id, and say i lost it and just show them my las vegas athletic card and a credit card, would that suffice? or, if i bring them my social, do they check that to verify my age?

    or for taxes?

basically, i'm wondering if its worth the risk to go back and own up to my word. everyone thinks i'll be back around 9-10am today.

    help =[

i kind of want to ask my dealer friend what to do.. but hes playing right now.

so basically, what im asking is

*would a social and credit card id be okay?
-- but if they get my social can i get in trouble?

i dont know, any advice would help

    thank you!!!

EDIT: SORRY --- i forgot to say, this was in a POKER ROOM.
    please help!

they need a photo ID. and they only need one! anything that is accepted in a bank can be accepted in a casino.

not much of an advice. seems like the only way u can get ur money is through illegal way and i won't advice any for dat.

Your social security card should be one form of ID since it is for tax purposes. I played in two tourneys in Tunica and cashed and had to show SS card and Dl.

        here's what i heard u can do...

u can try and get ur money but it would come with a very high prize if u get caught.

they need an ID to fill up a 1099 form (tax purposes). at the same time verify if ur 21 and over. they also need ur SSN (again, for tax purposes). if u dnt have ur ss card they will ask u to fill up a form called W-9 (u need to fill it up urself, stating ur physical (or business) address, ssn, sign and date).

dat $600 dollars u won is considered a miscellaneous income by the IRS. u will have to report it the end of the year (casino will send this info to the IRS). now since ur minor, how in the world can u have a casino/gambling earning/s? there goes one problem.

also, if u dont produce any valid ID (state ID, DL, Military ID, Passport, Resident Alien Card/Green Card), they won't pay u. at the same time, it would just raise suspicions on their part. you will be barred to enter their establishment until you produced a valid ID. that's almost automatic (if they do their jobs). regarding about ur $600, slim chance that they will hold it for you esp now that u can't produce a valid ID. they might hold it between 2 weeks - 3 months. but then dat doesn't really matter coz let's face it, u were a minor when u hit it.

u may try and produce a 'not-so-legit' ID but im sure u have an idea what can happen if u do dat.

here's what u can do, let a friend (over 21 with valid ID and SSN) collect ur winning. u said u know them (casino poker people) so talk to whoever is gonna do the paperwork. tell him u can't do any tax related forms right now as u r having some problem with the IRS. make up a story! tell them u owe bigtime child support or something. say whatever but again, talk about this just in front of whoever is doing the paperwork. it probably would be the pitboss. hope u know him but even so, dont tell him ur a minor. u will put him in an awkward position and i dont think he'll go with it knowingly. bring and get ur friend ready. make sure there are no people around. this could cost somebody getting fired and u being 86'd if somebody in the 'higher' ups finds out. don't forget to tip the guy. if u pull this off, u shld take it easy now and wait til ur 21. :P

but my best advice, u shld fess up and tell them ur still a minor. they'll be more lenient to let u come back and play with them when u turn 21 instead of getting 86'd. question for u is, is dat $600 worth all the risks? remember, u r not only putting urself at risk but also all the people involved - ur friend who (would) know ur a minor. the casino employee who will know that u were a minor after the fact.

I agree with mundane. Best thing to do here is just fess up and let everyone know whats going on.

basically, i already have the money.
the only thing they have is my name, first and last.

the dealers all know me by name..

              thats it though.

can i be reported in the griffin book?

i mean yeah, thats for IRS stuff.. so would they report that to the higher ups since they cashed me?

i mean, if it was just me winning money from other players and them cashing me out, it probably wouldnt go any higher.. but since i won a high hand ($600) that comes from the casino, does that put me in big trouble since they actually gave me the money?

the casino employees cant get in trouble since they have no proof that i am NOT 21 right? for all they know, i could have gotten into a car accident..

u got the money. well it's all up to u bud!

do u value dat casino dat much? if u dont, take the money and run. hopefully u dont run into the people that know u. LOL!

if u do, then talk to whoever is gonna do the paperwork with ur friend and see if he'll do the 1099 with ur friend. if he won't, i suggest u fess up and return the money.

if they remember, u would if they decide to do their job by that time! do u think they will? u know them so u so u shld have an idea.

2 things can happen by that time, they might just laugh it off and move on or they 86 ur arse!

I very much doubt it. That's probably the easiest way to play it.

Sounds like they like you there. I think if you told them the truth in a non-casino setting they wouldn't care and would understand.

Or just wait until you're 21 and apologize.

If you value the casino you are likely going to fess up. Honestly since you are underage, I just wouldn't go back and try to fool them. What you did was against the law. I would likely go at an off time and return the money, if you do that you should be in the clear.

Since the manage did you a favor just giving you the money, I think you need to give it back so that isn't an issue for him. Giving the money without proper ID could get him in a lot of trouble.
