I don't care much for the citizens of North African and Middle Eastern countries and believe that people tend to get the governance that they deserve.

I would fear that these 'uprisings' do spread to Saudi and Kuwait which would have nasty consequences in terms of energy supply and would see fairly radical Wahabists in control.

if countries like Egypt and Libya can fight and win democracy for themselves the United States would benefit long term. maybe other countries in the region will follow suit. we might have to pay the price for it now but down the road the more stable the Middle East and Northern Africa is the better the fuel prices will be. only time will tell though.
