We know you are generally supposed to throw down 1-5% of your roll per bet. Ideally 1 Unit is supposed to =1% of your roll.

My bet sizes fluctuate quite a bit and I am nowhere close to this rule. So go on and answer the question.

My unit's a 5%, but I sometimes end up betting up to 5 units, which is not wise, but I've been lucky most of the times

I utilise a slightly modified variant of Kelly, my average bet (ATS or total) is 3-4% of bankroll.

If my bankroll is full, I usually have 50 units, so 2% for most bets. But my bankroll was at 25 units after the Super Bowl and I was still betting the same dollar amount (so it was 4% of my bankroll per bet at that point). The higher % of your bankroll you place on a bet, the higher likelihood you go broke in the long run (i.e. over several thousand bets and several years).

Read up on some Kelly criterion, then come back and ask additional questions as necessary

for me it depends on a ton of factors
                        1) how confident
                        2) am i hedging 1st half or plan to hedge 2nd half
                        3) is this offsetting contest/points/etc plays
                        4) is this to quickly use up a rollover or scalp or offset to get bonus
                        etc etc

so my "average" can be anywhere from $10 to $3000

                          1% usually - 2% if I am very confident - 3% once in a blue moon
