When is it OK to scrum in NHL? When is it not ok and you get a penatly? WTF is a scrum?

It's OK when it's just some pushing and holding after a whistle. It becomes a full-blown fight when they square off and usually they'll both get fighting majors and someone will get an instigator penalty on top of that.Comment -
I thought fighting was encouraged in hockey? Would anybody even watch hockey without fights? Thats like watching Nascar without crashes.Comment -
The NHL has been trying to call tighter games and get away from fighting a little bit. They don't want it eliminated, but def reduced. I'm a Bruins fan and they are in the Top 3 in the league in fighting majors, so I haven't seen much reduction in the number of fights. This season especially, there are been A LOT of brawls (which everyone loves)Comment -
