I would say it was a bit of a bad beat, and the loss itself was definitely. Vandy was in control pretty much the entire game. I wouldn't say taking Tennessee plus the points was a bad call either though, because I would think a lot of the reason people would take the points did so knowing that the doors don't pull away from many teams. All around crappy game IMO, and I am sorry I watched it

I've had and heard of a lot worse bad beats then this. This doesn't happen all the time but its not as rare as you think.

Tennessee ML was a sharp pick a buddy of mine cashed on it.

Turnovers, rebounding, and bad defense. Same thing that burned Vandy @ Tennessee when they had a 17 point lead. Vandy had no answer at all for Scotty Hopson he won the game all by himself. Tennessee won this game because they made 5 more shots and took SEVENTEEN more shot attempts. That's what steals and offensive rebounds can do.

They didn't just win they won by 9 points. So a 18 point turnaround in the last 9 minutes. Now that is almost unheard of on the road against an equally talented team.

Stephen Pearl is averaging 11 minutes a game. I know for a fact that Tennessee probably has 3 players on the bench much better than Pearl. The idiocy of the head coach playing his son is costing UT a chance at being really good. Pearl is just horrible.

The vols were losing pretty much the entire game (98% ??), and probably by an average of 6-8pts (double digits a few times). If that makes the vols a sharp pick I guess we have two totally different definitions of sharp!

There was still about 5 minutes to play when I got back. But Vandy had already blown the lead at that point.

They scored a grand total of 9 points in the final 13 minutes. NINE FUKING POINTS. That's a 27 point per game pace. Not per half. PER GAME. That autistic kid J-mac scores at a higher rate than that.

It's not that I think it's that bad of a beat, it happens. But normally it happens when you've taken the road dog and they are covering against much superior competition who is uncharacteristically struggling, and then all of a sudden the home team wakes up and blows them out of the water. Think Duke against Wake a few weeks ago. Something like a 6 pt game with 16 minutes to play, Duke is playing like shit, looks like there's no way they are covering the 22.5 or whatever it was, then they go storming on something like a 40-18 run to close the game and cover.

Just from the way the game was unfolding, momentum, crowd, everything else, don't even have time to take a shit and it's a tie ball game. WTF. Screw the Commodores.

I agree though...an 18 point turnaround is possible, but against a decent team like Vandy it's definitely not the norm. Bastards cost me a 4-0 sweep in college hoops last night.
