Not sure how two guys that basically play the same the position is going to benefit the Knicks much. Adding Chauncey is probably a bigger addition though.

        Take this to the bank...

The Knicks WILL NOT make it to the Eastern Conference Finals this season or the following three seasons.

Unfortunately for you, Knick fans, you're running into LeBron/Wade in their prime just like you did MJ/Scottie back in the mid-90s. Oh, I forgot about those three future-HOF's in Boston and Freak-of-Nature in Orlando.

It's just not going to happen....sorry Spike.

The Knick has been relevant since Patrick Ewing back in 92-93. And I don't count that NBA Finals in 1999 due to the NBA lock down 50 game season.

I honestly can't imagine how teams are going to stop them offensively. Defensively they may have gotten worse. Billups was huge in this deal I did not think he would be included to the Knicks. He is still a knock down 3 point threat and thats what they need with 2 dominant creators in amare and carmelo.

Knicks need a lockdown defensive guard and a rebounding, shot blocking center and they are in business.

The Knicks still dont play defense and only teams that play halfcourt offense and defense win championships. And the Knicks got older with this trade and lost depth and chemistry. The real winners in this trade are the Nuggets.

This is why this deal buries the Knicks.

The NBA owners are going down the NFL path. They want a hard salary cap, and they will get it. They will lock it down for a year to get it, and that is pretty much what David Stern guaranteed when he spoke last week.

That will pretty much prevent the Knicks from buying anyone to support Anthony.

The Knicks went from being an average to ----still being an average team. Gallinari and Felton were playing pretty damn well for them.

                                            Huh?

St John's has beaten 4 top 10 teams. They destroyed #1 Duke, they beat Pitt, Notre Dame, and Georgetown.

No other team has done that this year. Why can't they get on a run and go far in the NCAA's? They have just as much of a shot as any team playing today. They are a senior heavy team, they rebound well, and they play good defense. All things that can carry a team.

If Butler and George Mason can make a Final Four---so can SJU this year.

not sure how you could not love this trade for the knicks? There defense just got 10x better. Gallinari was the worst defender his feet were way too slow. Chauncey plays great D and demands greatness and carmelo is a much improved defender played kobe great last year and almost always guards the opposite teams best player. All the reserves that we got are good defenders, balkman williams carter brewer. And compared to the heat the knicks have a post threat in amare and this will give melo and billups so many open looks WATCH OUT this year

Knicks will take some time to develop around Amare and Melo but St. John's has a good shot in going deep in the NCAA this year. Everything is there for them and if not they will be a force next season having the 3rd best recruiting class coming in to the 2011-2012 season.

With all the Melo hoopla in NYC seems like Chauncey Billups got lost in translation. he had a good night against the Bucks. St. John's rolls on with another win against Depaul. So far so good for all of NY basketball.
