Though I'd hate to make a mockery of 'if' or 'it' (locks?, like there are any).

absolutely agree. It's alright to post that one lock thread once in a while when you feel extremely confident and genuinely believe you have an edge in the game, but it's just stupid to pick some random game out of a hat every single day and call it a lock, which is what we see more and more everyday. If your going to post a lock play in a separate thread everyday, instead of clogging up the forum, just create one single thread and post the plays like many do like VegasInsider and Paco. Yisman, Eaglesphan, and Shari also have single threads going in the tennis forums. Go take a look and do the same or just don't post these lock play/plays of the century/lock of the millennium at all.

I agree about the number of locks, but if they give sound or any reasoning I find it helpful, the word lock doesn't mean much to me. without any write up, just lock of the year, I too will often fade that wager especially if a lot of posters agree. gl.

Heres another thing I don't get, along these lines. The mods are so quick to move all the goofball sh*t to the saloon, which is fine, but when 1 single "lock" for an NCAAB play gets posted it doesn't get moved to the NCAAB subforum. Whats up with that?

If they're going to be sticklers about posts in PT going to proper sub-forums, they might as well be sticklers about ALL the subforums, not just PT/saloon. Don't just pick and choose

For once JJ is right.
There are sub forums for plays. These knuckleheads with their "LOCKS OF THEY YEAR".
Good post, JJ.

You'll actually find that 99.9% of the time it's 'linked' to the appropriate subforum - in this case the NCAA Basketball one. If someone sees a thread in PT that it is solely handicapping, without any of the playful banter that makes a thread suitable for PT as opposed to a subforum, it gets linked between both places. You may not see it if you're only "viewing new posts" on here as obviously there's no point in showing you the same thread twice. But you would see it if you clicked on the NCAAB forum itself.
Believe it or not, everyone does appreciate those who make genuine picks for the sake of helping out the forum regardless of where they post them. It's just that sometimes the responses in the thread veer off topic and make the thread more suitable for PT rather than the subforum it was intended for as the subforums are heavily moderated whereas PT is a bit more loosey goosey. If you look at some of the 'play' threads in PT during the last few days, several would have only 5 responses if the posts that weren't related to handicapping were edited.
