Richter def. has to be one of the top US goalies. I remember watching old tapes of him vs Vancouver and shutting the door down vs Pavel Bure and Linden. Then in 2002 Olympics he basically stood on his head but could only do so much vs Canada.
I hate Hull so I'll give it to Modano.

Gotta go with Modano. He was everything to the stars back in the day, fun to watch, big heart. I went to game 3 of the 92 finals and got to see him and the stars take on the pens, the building was electric, was a great run but the pens were to strong, I believe they swept the stars.

What about JR Superstar? hes prob the most outspoken / flashy and had a long career.
He was a force for the young hawks that made a cup run in the early 90s.

I Played with Bob Carpenter. He was the youngest US palyer ever selected directly out of high school and the first US born player to score over 50 goals in a season.
I also played against former Pittsburgh All-Star goaltender Tom Barrasso. So there!
