On balance, yes.
It should be heavily taxed though.

Funny how taxes are suddenly aren't a bad thing to some people when it involves a vice they don't use.

Completely agree, live in Illinois also. Seems like a no brained to me. I believe I read a few months ago that pot sales are estimated to be over 6 billion dollars for the nation. But unfortunately we are a country of dumb asses, and unfortunately politicians are not businessmen.

Why would you vote no? Why do you care if some one you don't know smokes a plant? I will never understand this.

YES - Illinois. I believe weed is safer than booze. Quit when I was @ Carbondale, so no more buzzes for me. Would help our piece of sheet financial mess, as well.

Doubt it would ever be legal to smoke out on the streets. Would be just like alcohol laws. In an bar or establishment or at home.

Same. I think the reason it didn't pass is because nobody really cared since it was really just a technicality anyway. The general reaction seemed to be "Wait- you mean it's not already legal?" The only people who cared a lot about it were the people who really don't want people to be allowed to smoke pot.
It's funny to hear the attitudes towards something as meaningless as weed that still exists in a lot of the country. In my city there's more legal pot shops than there are Starbucks.
