Jose Mourinho - A record that will never be beaten
With Real Madrid's win tonight, it is 9 years as a manager/coach without a home loss in a domestic league match.
That is 169 matches.
Unreal.

Not bad, but put me at the leading clubs at each country (Porto, Chelsea, Inter) and I would probably do the same. His streak will be ended by Barca prett soon though....

seems you don't get the idea behind it. Its quite nice though....but he has coached in each country the best teams around. Streak will end when Barca comes to town. It would be more impressive with lower ranked clubs.
Also you should not overrate the influance of a coach when coaching a top team and have a bunch of worldclass players available.
I remember a quote of Cruijff when he was still playing. "if we would have listened to our coach we would never have won 3 Europa League's I consecutive".
Mourinho is a good manager dont get me wrong.

RbN, he's managed in leagues with the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Milan, Inter, Juve etc. all trying to topple his team. As much as I hate the man, I will have to acknowledge the fact that he's gone NINE years unbeaten at home, which is a massive achievement.
Brilliant manager, and a big oyster - Jose Mourinho.

Yeah he likes to create controversy, I called him out a couple times, but at the end he had nothing to say so he put me on mute.

9 years! That's a lot of time to stay undefeated at home, regardless that he was coaching big clubs. It can be harder sometimes to keep top players motivated than the ones from smaller clubs, making them want the win even though they didn't necessarily need it anymore. This record is gonna last for quite a while.

Anyone know who the second best coach is at the moment? I think the winning streak at home would not exceed 1-2 years.

Why does he move around so much? He has no identity with any one club unlike that other great manager Alex Ferguson.

They still have to play to see what will happen!
I think Mou made a big mistake in the first Clasico! He tried to play Barca's game! Maybe cause of the pressure he had and all the things that were told about his defensive game!
In Madrid he would do something else IMO! We'll see if u want a slow game! Real would wait more and make pressure on midfield! But never trying to play Barca's game!
This year we'll see a lot of Clasicos. I think there would be 5 more Clasicos this year so let's see what happens!

It was my impression that he was prepared to stay at Chelsea for the long term. It was only a couple of years ago that he started talking about winning the title in every major league. And there's nothing wrong with that. You don't have to stay at a club for 10 years. You might even argue that having all this success at lots of different clubs makes you even greater (which I'm not going to because what Ferguson has done is equally impressive imho). He also said that he wants to return to England and maybe build a legacy. Unfortunately I think that will be at Man Utd.
