I don't think this is true, I think the basics we all agree on. Blacks are the best at sports, followed by Mexicans, followed by whites, followed by Chinamen. Chinamen are the smartest, followed by whites, followed by African blacks, followed by Mexicans, followed by Amerian blacks. Jews are annoying but can be funny, Chinese can't see too well and all look the same, which is great if you have a Chinese woman fetish, bad if you don't. Chinamen aren't "real" men, but also not like women (like the gays are), they're more like just nothing at all. Arabians wear laundry on their heads and smell funny and have 7-11s, and don't play sports. I could go on and on. The point is when it comes to race, I think we do agree on the basics, which unites us all and is part of why we can discuss it.

Since when did stereotypes become fact?

Don't forget to rank the median sizes of male reproductive organs (by race), while you at it.

Well they may not be facts, but it is these commonly shared opinions that connect us all, as a people, as a human race, to one another, and allows us to extend the offering of conversation to one another about these touchy matters, and allows us to manifest an open and honest exchange of values and ideals and biases and prejudices, which has the power to unite us all, if we as a nation, as a people, as a collective of human divinity, have the courage to access the opportunity.

This is what Jackie Robinson stood for. This is what Torii Hunter wants us to honor. This is what so rankles the cockles of those for whom issues of race are merely yet another pitstop on a magical menagerie of unrestrained and willful ignorance, another indignity of chance to be written off as the inclement ramblings of wild fancy.

And what if said team was simply out to field the best possible talent, should they still have x-number of blacks, x-number of Latins, x-number Asians, etc?

What about this November when I go to the polls? Should I vote for this many blacks, this many Latins, this many whites, and not really be concerned with voting for the candidate I feel would best serve their constituents?

When I go shopping, should I buy from a store because I haven't shopped at a black/white/brown owned shop in a while, or should I shop at the store that has the best available products at the best available prices?

If you want to discuss hypocrisy, I'm more than ready to discuss just how ridiculous any affirmative action is in America these days.

That's a real stretch. The basis of these "opinions" encourages racial division. To rank intelligence by race is insulting. Your race is a pre-determining factor of intellect? I think not.

And how are African-Blacks smarter than American-Blacks. Oh (I get it)... American-Blacks have White blood in them from slavery. The introduction of White blood must have "dumbed-down" the American-Blacks while the African-Blacks are pure Blacks. But that wouldn't make sense, because that would imply that African-Blacks are smarter that Whites. What an interesting conceptual theory for "conversation."

Tell me... Are European-Whites smarter than American-Whites? Probably so... That explains why European-Whites have a strong currency, stable economy, quality healthcare, and an overall better standard of living.

Accoring to HG, if said teams were out to "field the best talent," the MLB would be chock full of Blacks and Mexicans. That's definitely not the case so, there has to be something questionable with their hiring practices?

                            Tori Hunter racist?

I'm not about to label Tori Hunter a racist even if some of his quotes are considered racist by some. This is a very touchy subject. Consider what happened to Jimmy The Greek and Al Campanis. I wouldn't label them as racists either. In this area I think actions speak louded than words and should be weighted accordingly. Racism begins in the heart, its not a spur of the moment thing.

As long as racial "leaders" so valiantly point out that racism exists, racism will exist...

The only thing I am personally prejudiced against is ignorance. It is extremely ignorant and arrogant to continue feeding a race of people (any race) hateful rhetoric in order to ensure job security.

Why are people so anti-Sharpton? What has he done too warrant such hatred? Did he shoot someone 41 times, did he stick a plunger up someone's ass...???

Anti-Sharpton rhetoric is a complete waste of time, because Sharpton has no power to act on his speeches. They're just words (no action).

Hunter is merely pointing out a simple flaw in the system. If a team doesn't have any black players (in the first place), the implication could be made that said team's hiring pollicies are not necessarily pro-racial diversification (black talent might not be a viable option for their rosters - for whatever reason). Therefore, it's kind of hipocritical for said team to wear the number 42 in honor of a black player who risked his life for league intergration. If said team was truly dedicated to Jackie Robinson's vision of a racially diverse league then they'd hire black players in the first place. Said team would insist upon having black talent on their rosters whether the MLB liked it or not.

That's all that Hunter's saying. He's pointing out hipocracy.

If it were Hunter's choice white people would not exist. An inside source told me he said this.

The percentage of blacks in baseball right now is at 8.2%. If a roster has 25 guys, that means you need 2 black guys to make it to 8%. So you're trying to say, with a variance of TWO PEOPLE, that could bring a team's ethics into question?

I could understand if it was at 8% and the roster was made up of 1,000 people. There might be a slight problem if the league averaged 80 bruthas per team and there is Houston with zero. But we're talking two. So that's just stupid.

Maybe they should trade for Joey Gathright to get them up to 4%? He has amazing numbers I hear!

What would've been racist would be if Houston did NOT recognize the occasion.

Hunter is an idiot. As are a growing number of other unintelligent loud mouths.

I love the sarcasm. Where did you learn about the "bruthas..." (Ebonics 210 - the Hip-Hop Spelling Bee)?

I enjoyed the way that you examined the MLB's racial player assignment math - 8% translating into two Black players per team (you're a smart guy - pat yourself on the back & raise the roof).

I guess that two Black players per team sounds fair - looks like racial equality to me?

After each game, they'll crowd around home plate and sing Paul McCartney's "Ebony & Ivory..." Ah yes, a proud moment in baseball history!

Call up Houston and we could broker that deal by noon, because "with 8% - the Blacks have absolutely no reason to vent..."

Well we had some young teachers at our high school. One gym teacher used to work with me at my after school job. I had been lusting after him for months and I almost had him, then BAM...he's a teacher and that's a big no no.
