I have a photo I'd like to post... but it's over 1 meg. Is there a way to use paint or some other program to reduce the resolution, but keep the dimensions?

You can use a photo editing program (etc.Photoshop) to reduce the quality, which will probably reduce the file size. The easiest way is to reduce the resolution, which will make the photo smaller, but can keep the same quality.

Irfan View is a good free program where you will be able to resize the image and do many other things. Check it out

the simplest way is to use a free webhosting site and you can resize it...photobucket is free and has this feature..(I use it) and dont have to worry about messing up the pic in paint or other programs
