Cam Newton Workout Video

Wow. Kid is a Top 10 pick now, no question about it. I just watched his workout video and training for the combine and he's a monster with a cannon. Sportscenter is showing some clips too. I guess this is the first look at Newton after his month-long training with his QB coach.

I wasn't a huge believer before, but after watching that footwork and zip on the ball....I'm sold.

After looking at the draft order, he could very well go to Arizona (5th), San Fran (7th), Tennessee (8th) or Washington (10th)

come on VI, you know better than that. Workout videos mean absolutely ZERO. I remember I heard a story about Tim Couch throwing a football through a tire or something from like 50 yards away from his knees. This was in front of a Cleveland scout and I guess the rest is history . Throwing to receivers with nobody covering on a high school field means nothing.

Couch and Newton aren't even close to the same quarterback. Newton's physical attributes alone will make him a better QB than Couch. I know that these videos aren't the final evaluation, but comparing his delivery and footwork from the college season to this video...it's totally different and more solid.

VI, this is why guys like VY, Tim Couch, Vernon Gholston, Alex Smith, in a few years Tim Tebow and many others get drafted high and then go busto. All these guys are practice field/NFL combine warriors. They get coached up with the footwork, the throwing motions, etc, but then they go bust on gameday because they've never done these things consistently with 11 guys lined up on the other side of the ball. I read your post and I can imagine the Titan's GM saying the same exact thing when they were evaluating VY. "He looks athletic and we can work with him". It's about time these front offices realize that you shouldn't draft a project in hopes of that project becoming the franchise player for you.

Newton has taken almost zero snaps from under center, has a rocket arm but has to work on footwork dropping back from under center and his accuracy, extremely athletic, played in a spread where he rarely has had to really make precision passes.......who does this remind you of? VY, Alex Smith, Tim Tebow,
