I thought he just signed a one year contract extension. What was that about? Maybe him resigning was already in the works and the contract extension was to secure future money. Weird.

No, i dont think thats the case at all. Something must have went wrong over the past week or so. All the reporters are pretty shocked, saying the Jazz aren't even doing that bad and its freaking Jerry Sloan, 20+ years in Utah, this is pretty shocking to have his time there end like this. Something huge must have happened.

So apparently Sloan and Williams have had MAJOR issues. Last straw was the argument last night. Very poor choice by the management backing Williams over a guy that gave you 23 great years of coaching. No loyalty at all. And we all know what coddling superstars leads too right, Howard will leave and so will Williams.

IN THIS THREAD: Reaction to Jerry Sloan resigning

One of the best coaches the game has ever had and arguably the best to never win a title. He was a hard-nosed guy and it appears as if he and Deron Williams had been going at it for quite some time with last night's halftime during a game against the Bulls being the culmination.

What's everyone's thoughts on Sloan and how do you guys think this will affect the Jazz for the remainder of the season?

all williams was saying is that we are not going to fukkin win shit with this team. The Jazz will never win if they don't get another star player. What's so hard to understand about this? Are NBA GMs retarded? You have a guy with you for 25 years and he wants to win a ring. Go pay some money, get carmello anthony, and consider yourself a contender.

This guy deserves to get a ring but it will never happen if things dont change within the organization.

John Stockton listened to Sloan he is a hall of famer. Deron Williams doesn't listen to Sloan will never be in the hall of fame. These punk kids don't listen to there coaches are a joke in the nba. Sloan one of the greats in nba history great career.
