Does your source say for what. That would suck for Melo if someone got him as a rental and didn't offer the extension, though I'm sure they would.

The Mavs dont need him. They just won 10 games in a row without Caron Butler or Roddy B. Roddy B will be back in the line up soon and we got Peja Stojakovic. Unless they wanna trade him for Brenden Haywood and Dominque Jones than the Mavs should pass cuz we all know he wants to play in New York next year.
