You go through Duke history over the past years, and tell me whats their worst shooting day in Cameron.
This is a bad spot for UNC. They are finally getting some recognition for blowing out some teams, so they arent sneaking up on anybody.
UNC has no bench, and once Henson or Zeller leave the floor they become a bad team.
If Duke was only 7 point favs I would take UNC, but the line is too high. Duke in blowout fashion tonite. Take UNC when they go for revenge @home.Comment -
Duke's gameplan is to pressure the hell out of Marshall early and try to rattle the freshman in his first game in Cameron. They are also going to attack him on the offensive side of the ball and try to get early fouls on him. Coach K would much rather see Strickland in there than Marshall. Like Houlihan's said if Duke gets Henson or Zeller in foul trouble this will turn ugly quick. It is probably a no play for me because Duke is my favorite team and this is my Super Bowl. If I had to pick this game gun to my head I would take Duke. Line tells me alot and as good as UNC has been playing (hard to believe but I am happy they are) they haven't played anyone the Caliber of Duke on the road. Don't get fooled by Duke losing on the road to Fla. St and St. Johns, they shot awful both games and I promise you that won't happen tonight. Duke with the experience takes this one. Agreed Houlihan.....a few weeks ago maybe. But UNC is in everyones eye right now and a freshmen point guard in cameron dealing with Nolan Smith? I dont see it.

While UNC +10 might look like a great play numbers speaking, that's all it is, numbers.
And if you're a numbers player, and you want to play the percentages, the trends, then UNC is the play.
Yes Duke lost to FSU while UNC crushed FSU. UNC was at home. Duke was on the road. And Duke has always struggled in Tallahassee. And FSU does one thing UNC doesn't, play defense.
Yes UNC has won 5 straight.
Against Clemson (who can't score),
@ Miami (byTHREE, and one of the worst teams in the league),
vs NCSU (Word of God could beat NCSU right now. I'm a State alum. Trust me),
@BC (can't defend, as evidenced through losses to Harvard, Yale, and NCSU, all at home)
vs FSU (Already discussed.)
UNC likes to play up-tempo, hoping to outscore bad offenses (ala Clemson/Miami/FSU) and expose weak defenses (ala BC)
Duke can score and defend. UNC can score. But their defense is mediocre at best. Roy's teams have never been great defensively, but usually they are at least satisfactory. The past couple years they have been painfully weak (comparatively speaking).
This game comes down to one thing, and one thing only: will Duke hit open shots? Because they will have plenty all night. They are playing in Cameron. So I would say yes.
Last year Duke won in Cameron by 32 points, the biggest margin ever in the series: 82-50.
This year's Duke team in scoring more points per game, and giving up about the same defensively. UNC is better than last year. But not that much better.

From a Carolina Fan---- I was really looking forward to this game after the recent success they have been having... then last night I saw the line was Duke -9.5 and thought to myself ... shit... vegas hits more than they miss in regards to the spread... this game will be a duke win by 9-12... Carolina is going to struggle if anyone gets in foul trouble... duke is gonna dig deep into the wealth of their talent...Personal leans are Duke -9.5 and the over....
I think its going to go over because Singler is a dick and him and Curry/Dawkins are going to hit a couple threes in the first few possessions to give Duke a 6-8 point lead within the first 3 minutes... Carolina is going to be chasing the entire game and are going to HAVE to score a ton of points to keep it respectable... this game is going to be Carolina trying to push the ball in transition and score before Duke sets up their half court defense... and duke will hit 10 threes tonight...
