what teams either went from the top to the bottom in one year or from the bottom to the top? I ask because we were talking hoops and the Celtics came to mind. I know the rams were pretty bad the season before they went to the SB a few years back.

#5Dude, they sucked up til half way into last season. Playoffs mean nothing....especially NFC playoffs. Even the Squeelers were in the playoffs last year.Originally posted by mofomeyou mean the giants who were in the playoffs 2 years ago?

#6The first teams to come to mind were the Twins and Braves of 1990-91.
The 1990 Twins won 74 games and finished 29 games out in last place of the AL West. In 1991, Minnesota won 95 regular season games then the ALCS then the World Series.
The 1990 Braves won just 65 games, finishing last in the NL West 26 games out. In 1991, Atlanta won 94 games, the NLCS and lost in a great 7-game Series to Minnesota. That's at least one case of two teams going from last in their divisions to first in their leagues.Comment -

but winning the SB over the New England chokers means something. It means "I was right." The three most magical of words ....

#10What about the 1999 St.Louis Rams.
They go from the cellar to superbowl champs with a back up QB named Kurt Warner, after Trent Green went down with a season ending injury.Comment -

But seriously, who thought at the start of the season that those guys would win the SB?Comment -

not many suspected it, but they don't belong on a conversation about the biggest turn arounds in the history of sports. they were a wild card team one year and a wild card team the next. they lost by 3 in the first round 2 years ago but they managed to pull out a 3 game winning streak this year. certainly a surprise to everyone but Nance
but i dont see how this ranks in the top 498 top turn arounds.

#20TB Bucs / Minnesota Twins
Were worst to first a few years ago. Also, the Minnesota Twins in either 1987 or 1991 went from worst to first and took the pennant.Originally posted by mofomewhat teams either went from the top to the bottom in one year or from the bottom to the top?
