      Phony altruism at its best.

No gives a fuk about Egypt, but it's the hip thing to say "Err derr, support da peepole! Demockracy!".

And they'll join a facebook page and sit around Starbucks talking to their hipster friends about how progressive they are for caring about the poor, poor Egyptians. And then they will go on with their lives.

Not sure what is going on over there so will wait. Definitely was in support and inspired by the Iranians a couple years ago when they were fighting for their freedom. This could get bad over there, and those that would rise up in power after this might be much worse.

How miserable of a life does one have to lead to post something like this ? Good grief.

When are we going to start telling the truth??

People that reproduce like fukkin mice that can't even figure out basic civilization, should not be felt sorry for or "helped" out every time they have problems...

I'm sick and fukkin tired of the ghettos of America and the middle east always bitching and complaining about how everyone is holding them down..

Learn how to strap a fukkin rubber on and be civilized..

There, I just saved the world trillions of dollars and solved a lot of our problems...

Or, I could just be a liberal and say, "facebook this"

Europe is going to look like that real soon because they are so brilliant with their rubbers. Not reproducing = tons of problems too(To oversimplify).

Do you even read the hypocrisy in your statement? If you yourself did care you'd stop the hatred and get involved. You have no idea about the importance of the situation in Northern Africa or the middle east do you? This is not just about Egypt, this is about supporting people who share the same ideals as you. Go online read a few news articles and try and understand something before you spew uninformed hatred.

The world is changing at a fast rate, thanks to online social media networks political movements are running at an unprecedented rate. You got your opinions about hipsters and whatever stereotypes you have developed, but that doesn't mean showing support for Egyptian people who basically started their organizing on Facebook is altruistic.

Your president came out immediately to issue a statement. CNN, BBC, etc... are covering this 24/7 for the past 11 days.

If you don't think this situation is going to affect you in the future, then you will be one of those guys who in a couple years looks back and realizes how wrong you were about the world. There are stereotypes about Facebook, but you can't deny that it's an effective tool for political change.

yeah fukk those tools, they don't care at all.

by the way what are you doing to show support? Egyptians started their organizing on Facebook. I'm not a fan of Facebook for all the crap that people use it for, but just showing that you care is very powerful for Egyptians to see, you'll understand this if you read up.

America's current puppet has worn out his welcome. Who cares? It does not matter because whoever is put in charge will be the new puppet of american imperalism. They control both sides. It is called "poliitcal leveraging." Is the OP that naive to think the egyptian people realy have a voice in who is the new leader? The new leader will be who the US admin wants to suit their current agenda.

if we don't get rid of all muslims we will all be forced to become one. maybe we should let them take over the whole middle east and then just nuke the lot of them. that will get their attention and get them to give up their silly religion.

This is a great idea. Nuke everything. Then nothing grows there for the next 100 years. Good luck finding Americans to go there and drill for the oil we need in radioactive zones.

PS. Maybe if you use organic nukes it won't harm the environment.

About a third of the people of Egypt want Mubarak to stay

About a third of the people of Egypt want an Islamic state.

His point is that if you want to support them, then actually support them. A 16 year old girl who clicks a button on Facebook because that's what her friends did and she doesn't want to be an outcast is hardly showing support of the cause.
