Down by six, kid runs down court and hits 3 pointer with half second left to cover the spread. Pointless three except for all the gamblers of the world.

It's called never giving up. Nothing more, nothing less.
Kid is a very good basketball player.

That one hurt a bit a lot. That kid is normally a pretty poor shooter too. I think they hit all their crazy three's at the end.

He was completely unguarded, but if you watched the game closely if looked as the game was fixed!

This is normal...now if the winning team did this, it'd be sketchy.

If you have to go fishing twice and no one bites, it probably a good idea to just let it go.

you guys are acting like you've never seen a basketball player take a meaningless 3 with 1 second to go in the game and up 20 or down 20.. i've seen it probably 2,123 times in my life, 5x so far this week, and about 45x so far this year alone.
it's not something unusual in basketball.

Nice win for you.
Prolly only a 40% chance that shot goes in. A better way to fix is let the guy drive to the hoop uncontested and commit a flagrant foul like a face punch after the basket.

I couldn't believe he made that shot. For once I was actually on the right side of things with Portland +3.5. Thank God!

Hard to take the crying and finger pointing when a guy competes and the public questions it.
If you have ever been in that type of arena , you would get it.
But people that constantly question it simply prove they have not.

If it was fixed they wouldn't have left it to the last shot to cover. The cover would have been by far more points. Think about it.

I didn't see it but after reading the thread I'd like to catch a highlight of the shot somewhere.
Anyone know where or if it's available?

You don't know what you are talking about. These kids are kept poor so they will be susceptible to the pointshaving/fixing bribe. That's what happened here. Imagine the pressure he must have felt before that shot knowing he had to make it or he'd lose his knees. Now that's clutch. Some guys lost to the fix and they are just venting. Leave your "facts" out of this discussion.
**Seriously, I'll never understand how a guy could see an event that happens literally thousands of times and yell fix on the one instance it hurts them. It's as simple as sometimes you lose.

Yea i'm sure the game was fixed when a kid takes a shot from behind the arc to cover a spread. If the game was fixed then whoever was involved wouldn't rely on the final play of a game when the kid who shot it is a 30% shooter behind the arc....come on now. Refs and fouls are the reason any game would be fixed....but at least it worked out in your favor this time. The kid probably just didn't give up and hustled till the buzzer sounded and took a shot....who cares?!

exactly, if game was fixed,.. they'd throw bricks all game and commit fouls and lose 84-52, not depend on a last second hail mary shot.
