I have to say I was really impressed with that freshman for Kansas, Alridge (?) I think his name was. If he stays in college I like his pro potential.

Those guys were ALL first round draft picks, two of them in the lottery. That is an indictment of the NBA for picking them for NOT being mentioned as college players' of the year. My point is that your college resume does not guarantee you anything at the next level. When it is all said and done, Love and Hansborough will be no better or no worse off than some of the other players who have been drafted in the first round who played around the basket in college. And the sad part about this entire situation is that being a great college player has nothing to do with supreme success in the NBA. Anyone can get drafted based on stats or potential, but that only gets you to the next level, staying there is another story for another day.When were Boone, or Armstrong mentioned as Naismith finalists? Comapring Boone to either of these kids is kinds strange to see. Same with Armstrong, wasn't he their 6th man in his final season? Did he ever average more than 10 points a game? odd names to pull and certainly not 'household names', but whatever floats your boat.

I agree with this, but your argument did not fit with the statement you first made. Armstrong and Boone were almost the opposite of Hans and Love. The two all American stat stuffers vs the athletic big men who are drafted on potential rather than what they've actually produced.Comment -

Love 12pts 9 reb 2 stl 3 blks...only took 11 shots...they got blow own because Collison and shipp go a combined 4 for 18 and 11 pts....Rose dominated Collison though he only shot 7 for 16 he killed him defensively
