broke into a famous Egyptian museum and ripped
the heads off of two mummies.......

Hell....if they will do that to someone who has been dead

I was in Egypt about a month ago... It is a different kind of place but it definitely is not anti-American...

The police is gone, they are famous for torturing people so they were the first ones out once the military moved in. The Military is supported by the US's generous 1 billion+ a year contribution. The military is just sitting around waiting for a new leader, they aren't going to be stopping any protesters from expressing themselves.

My grandmother went there a few months back, had a blast...however, I imagine she would reconsider today!! You made the right decision! It's just a vacation, many other places, much safer places, will be waiting for you to enjoy some time off of work. Great decision, JMHO.

btw, why go in february.. it's cold there now. i was there in AUG where it's 104 deg each day..

It should still be warmer then it is here in England at the moment! There are a load of us going from the university I went to and is best time to suit all as we're all doing different things now, I'd of preferred to go in April during our Easter tho.
