My daughter's friend from school invited her to a birthday party during the friggin Super Bowl. I don't know the parents, so either my wife or I have to go. My wife will be out of town then, so that leaves me. My daughter was excited about it, so there is no way to talk her out of going. Children's services should investigate families that pull crap like this.

#7They must have been New York Jets fans.
But really, you shouldn't have anything to worry about because birthday parties are usually held during the day in the afternoon. The super bowl starts at 7, right?Comment -

When you go. Can you ask the parents why they are holding this on Superbowl Sunday? And report back to us with what they say. I would really want to know why. Maybe the wife is pissed at the husband or something.
They could of easily had it on the Saturday before.Comment -

#18The party has been postponed until the next day (Thank God!). The family having the party is from Pakistan, and has only lived in America for 2-3 years. They really were not too aware of the Super Bowl tradition, and changed it after a couple of parents told them they had other plans. The birthday parents didn't realize that it was Super Bowl Sunday when the birthday party coordinator told them they were booked for the afternoon, and only had evening time slots left. The kids birthday is on Sunday, but they're moving the party to the next day to accomodate the other kids' parents. Alls well that ends well, I guess.Comment -

#21I don't get why you can't just let your daughter go to the party alone? There will be parents there will there not be? When I was a kid and there were birthday parties everyone just used to get dropped off and picked up. In fact only the anti social loser kids had there parents stay behind.Comment -

Last time I checked parents run the fukin show. Tell your kid you aint fukin going!
Why do you have to go anyway??? Ive never heard of such shit! You cant let your kid out of your sight to go to a roller rink with her friends & a bunch of other lame parents??? This kids headed for trouble. I take that back, you're headed for trouble. You cant shelter your kids like that, when she turns 16 she'll go fukin wild. How will you like trying to watch the game in a few years while your puerto rican grandbaby is fukin crying???Comment -
