Back when I was in college, I was part of a ticket scalper/broker group. We had a decent amount of tickets for the 1986 World Series. Boston went into game 6 up 3-2 in the series. We were holding around 150 tickets for game 7. Since we couldn't return tickets we bought off people, I was the goat that had to fly to Vegas to hedge our tickets. Needless to say, I bet $10,000 on Boston on game 6. Figured if Boston won, we would break even with what we would lose on the tickets. Needless to say, the Mets won so we lost our bet, but made a killing on out game 7 tickets. Worked out great for us, but I missed game 7 as I was stuck in Vegas.
