    MLB.TV Blackout?
Does anyone know how your market is determined?

What I mean is....is it by billing address on your credit card, or does it go by your location via your IP address? Maybe they block both.

It all is determined on what fox sports net you receive in your area. I do know somebody last year posted away around the blackout restriction, however I don't remember exactly what it was offhand sir.

They are blacking me out of everything today.

They always used my billing address before.

So, even in South America I'd get Colorado area blackouts.

I can't figure out what's going on today, but they better fix it.

I know they at least use IP. I live in Pirates' territory, and a couple years ago tried using a buddy in Idaho's account once to watch a game but got blocked.

So I think the only option is using a proxy server...but that's a lot of data. Anyone know any websites that stream MLB games?

The previous two years I had my aunt in Indiana sign up for it so I would be able to see my local teams on my laptop if i wanted to while I was at work.

Last year they changed the way it works as I could no longer watch my locals here even they I was using my aunts Indiana login. They were going off my IP. Also last year I went to a friends wedding in Florida and while I was there I could watch my locals but the Tampa Bay game was blocked out.

To echo what's been said already, I'm pretty sure that they're using IPs these days. Occasionally the IPs in one of the buildings in which I work in NYC are identified as Virginia IP addresses, because of the way the institution's access to the internet is handled. In these cases, I can get the NYY and NYM. Otherwise, I cannot.
