The numbers represent my own personal rating system for NBA success. This system likes guys like David Lee, and Carl Landry as well as Noah Horford Conley Oden Roy and Paul. It hates guys like Hawes Thaddeus Young Redick Lofton Curry, etc. For point of reference purposes the best ever was Paul(since 05) and he was a 24. Noah Horford Conley and Roy were all low 20s. I think anything over 20 is a future all star. Over 15 is a starter. Under 10 is a bust. Over 10 is a 7th or 8th man.
First lets look at each teams best 3 players.
Kevin Love 26
Darren Collison 13(he was rated higher last year)
Westbrook 16
Chalmers 16
Darnell Jackson 14
Darell Arthur 11
Derrick Rose 23
Robert Dozier 12
Joey Dorsey 15
hansbrough 17
Ty Lawson 17
Danny Green 8
So, I think there 2 future all stars and 6(7 if you count Collison for what he did last year when he wasn't injured) future NBA contributors.
Ranking them we have.
1. Kevin Love
2. Derrick Rose
3a. Hansborough
3b. Lawson
5. Chalmers/Westbrook
If you look at the matchups
Ucla vs. Memphis(-1)
Love > Dorsey
Rose > Collison
x-factor = Westbrook
*UCLa should win because memphis has no answer for Westbrook. For the first time this year Memphis wont have the best players on the floor.
UNC vs. Kansas(+3)
Hansbrough > Jackson
Lawson > Chalmers
* UNC shouldn't need an x-factor since they will probably shut down Kansas' two best players.
THe championship game should feature UNC vs. UCLA in which Westbrook will have to play x-factor again and should have an easy time doing so.
One man's opinion.
