No, if you wanted to hedge you would just take the Jets to win this week, and then if Pitt wins you wold take the NFC team in the SB.

depends on what bets your book offers, the easiest way is to bet that Pittsburg wont win the superbowl.
btw dont bet the jets to win the superbowl, ull lose both bets if the winner is a nfc team

One option you have is to bet Jets with the 3.5. This way, you have a chance that the Jets lose by 3 and you can win both bets. It Pitt wins by more than 3.5, you can bet the NFC team in the Super Bowl. You can then take them and the points again or if the NFC is favored, you should take their moneyline.
I like hedges that have a chance to win both bets.

Is hedging by taking the Jets to win the SB stupid? Well it certainly could be if the Packers or Bears win it.

If you want to hedge, you could bet Pittsburgh NOT to win the Super Bowl at 5Dimes, which is -220 right now.
If you have $100 on Pittsburgh to win $800, you would bet $619 to win $281 on Pittsburgh to NOT win the Super Bowl, and lock in a $181 profit either way.
You've got $100 to win $800 though, and you'll end up only winning $181. This is why hedging (at least in this situation) sucks. If you had Pittsburgh at 25-to-1 or something, that's a totally different story.

You've got great value already and there's no sense cutting into it. Stand pat.

bet the jets small to win with the spread this week... could end up getting both wins and then bet the nfc team small or however % you want to hedge with if pitt is in the championship

Bet the Jets +165 ML or if you want a little more risk try to middle Jets +3.5. That way you give up the +65 but you could have Pitt win by 3 and cash both bets.
