If the clippers got carmelo they might get the 8th seed in the west. Clippers have been severly undervalued in spreads (at home) for a while and the books seem to have adjusted/inflated their lines now.

I think that requires making the playoffs. They are playing good ball but they have a lot of teams to jump over and a more road games than home games left.

I figured if guys got traded out of the West, (Carmelo, Nash, Camby, etc.) they'll at least make the playoffs and you can hedge.

The Clippers are much improved. If they could replace Ryan Gomes with someone decent, they would have a much better shot. Either that or Gomes gets better.

The only other tricky spot with a bet like this if one of their star players is hurt, like Gordon was earlier this year, they will start another stellar losing streak like that 1-13 run they had at the beginning of the season. But this losing one star play seems to be a big problem for a lot of teams, even the elite ones. Just look at the Heat losing their last 4 in the row!

They already shown what they got what it takes to be the best teams in the NBA. But come playoff time if they make it, the game will get even more physical. They will have to learn how to keep up and not to get hurt.

Still, I want this bet. Risk is not part of my nickname for nothing. LOL!
